Here is a step-by-step guide to developing an organised targeted marketing plan. An organised targeted marketing plan is essential for any business looking to increase its growth and success. Having a clear step-by-step guide in place will help you know your customer and identify who your target audience is.  Furthermore, you will be able to establish exactly what your goals are.  Plus, what steps need to be taken in order to achieve them. Without doubt, this will help you avoid marketing mayhem.  In short, having an organised targeted marketing plan can take your business to the next level.

Step 1: Identify Your Goals

The first step in creating an organised targeted marketing plan is to identify what goals you would like to achieve. This could include increasing brand awareness, increasing sales, or transitioning into a new market. Whatever your goals may be, it’s important that they are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely (SMART). For instance, “Increase sales by 10% within 3 months” could be one of your main SMART goals.

Step 2: Define Your Target Audience

No matter how effective your small business marketing strategies are, if you don’t know who your target audience is then all of your efforts will go to waste. It’s essential that you have a clear understanding of who you want to reach with your message and why they would benefit from it. To do this effectively, you must research their needs and desires as well as the media outlets they use. Mainly so that you can tailor your marketing messages accordingly. When I’m doing a Marketing Strategy Foundation Session with clients, I’d estimate that 95% of the time, this is the area they want to focus on. So, if you’re struggling with breaking down your market, understanding who your ideal customers are, or which customers to target, you’re not alone! Many business owners are experiencing the same challenges as you!

Step 3: Develop Strategies

Once you have identified and defined your target audience it’s time to develop strategies that will help you reach them most effectively. This includes deciding which platforms or channels, such as social media or email, will be used.  As well as which type of content, such as blog posts or videos, will be created. Moreover, you also want to make sure that all of these strategies fit within the budget allocated for the marketing plan while still delivering maximum results.

Conclusion

Creating an organised targeted marketing plan requires careful planning and strategy development in order for it to be successful. By following these steps: identifying SMART goals; defining a target audience; and developing effective strategies, you can ensure that all aspects of your plan are aligned with each other so that when implemented they will deliver maximum results towards achieving those goals. With an organised targeted marketing plan in place even the smallest of businesses can aim to compete with larger competitors on a more level playing field!
